Integrated Systems Testing
Muir Engineering provides Integrated Systems Testing (IST) services for commercial, residential, institutional, and mixed-use buildings throughout British Columbia.
Integrated Systems Testing verifies that fire protection and life safety systems within a building are properly interconnected and operating together as intended under both normal and emergency conditions. These tests are completed in accordance with CAN/ULC-S1001 and applicable requirements of the British Columbia Building Code.
Our team works closely with contractors, commissioning agents, building owners, authorities having jurisdiction, and other consultants to coordinate and lead organized testing procedures prior to occupancy.
Integrated systems testing may involve verification of:
Fire alarm systems
Sprinkler and standpipe systems
Smoke control and ventilation systems
Emergency power systems and generators
Emergency lighting
Elevator recall systems
Fire pumps
Smoke and fire dampers
Door hold-open devices and magnetic locks
We have successfully led Integrated Systems Testing for a variety of multi-family residential and commercial building projects throughout BC, helping project teams achieve code compliance and occupancy requirements efficiently and thoroughly.
