The Steve Marshall Auto Group is a Vancouver Island institution with more than 50 years in business, operating a family of dealerships including brands such as Ford, Mazda, Honda, and Nissan across Campbell River and beyond. The project involved the construction of a new Mazda dealership facility in Campbell River — a single-storey, approximately 5,200 sq. ft. building designed with energy efficiency as a priority from the outset.

Muir Engineering provided electrical consulting services for the new dealership, working alongside Thomas Dishlevoy Architecture. The scope covered main service and power distribution design, interior and exterior lighting designed to Mazda's brand specifications and supported by photometric analysis, communications and multimedia display systems, security, emergency lighting, exit signage, and fire alarm. The design incorporated energy-efficient lighting strategies tailored to the auto dealership environment. The design included recommendations for high-efficiency alternatives to standard high-bay fixtures in the service areas, in keeping with the owner's goals for a modern, efficient facility.
